Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using The Curious Builder website ("the Site"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using The Curious Builder, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you have read and understood these Terms, and you agree to be legally bound by them.
2. Use of the Site
You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You agree not to:
Copy, reproduce, or distribute any content from the Site without written permission
Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site
Transmit any spam, malware, or harmful code
Impersonate The Curious Builder or any other person or entity
3. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including but not limited to text, graphics, images, blog posts, videos, and logos, is the property of The Curious Builder and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. You may share links to content but may not reproduce or republish full content without prior written consent.
4. Email Newsletter
By subscribing to our newsletter, you consent to receive periodic emails containing updates, content, and promotional offers from The Curious Builder. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email or by contacting us directly. We comply with the CAN-SPAM Act and will never sell your email address to third parties.
5. Purchases & Payments
The Curious Builder offers the following types of purchases through the Site:
Physical merchandise (e.g., podcast-branded apparel and accessories)
Collective memberships, which provide access to exclusive networking events and community benefits
Retreat registrations, which are event-based experiences subject to additional terms outlined below
By making any purchase, you agree to:
Provide accurate and complete payment information
Authorize us to charge the applicable fees to your payment method
Review the specific product or event description before purchasing
All prices are listed in US Dollars. We reserve the right to modify pricing at any time, though changes will not affect completed purchases.
6. Collective Memberships
The Curious Builder Collectives is a membership-based networking community. Members gain access to exclusive in-person networking events and community resources. By purchasing a membership, you agree to the following:
Membership is available as an annual membership or on a per-session basis
Memberships do not auto-renew; you will not be charged again unless you actively purchase a new membership or session
Annual memberships grant access to Collective events for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase
Per-session purchases grant access to the specific session purchased only
Memberships are non-transferable and may not be shared with others
To cancel an annual membership before the term ends, contact us at mark@mdwilliamshomes.com; cancellation will stop any future charges but does not entitle the member to a refund for the current term
The Curious Builder reserves the right to modify event schedules, formats, or membership benefits with reasonable notice
Members are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully at all times; The Curious Builder reserves the right to revoke membership for violations of community standards without refund
7. Retreats
The Curious Builder periodically hosts retreat experiences. By registering for a retreat, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
Retreat registration fees are due in full at the time of booking unless a payment plan is explicitly offered
Travel and accommodations are not included in any retreat; attendees are solely responsible for arranging and funding their own transportation, lodging, and personal expenses
Retreat spots are transferable — if you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another person by notifying us at mark@mdwilliamshomes.com prior to the event date
The Curious Builder is not liable for any injury, illness, loss, or damage that may occur during retreat activities
Participants with health conditions that may be affected by retreat activities are encouraged to consult with a physician before registering
[CUSTOMIZE: What is the cancellation/refund policy for retreats? Recommended: full refund 60+ days before event, 50% refund 30-59 days before, no refund under 30 days. Confirm with Mark what works for his business.]

8. All Sales Final / Refund Policy
Physical Merchandise
All sales of physical merchandise are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges on any merchandise items. Please review product descriptions carefully before completing your purchase.
If you receive an item that is defective or was shipped in error, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at mark@mdwilliamshomes.com with a photo of the issue. We will make it right at our discretion through a replacement or store credit.
Collective Memberships
All membership purchases — both annual and per-session — are non-refundable. Because memberships provide immediate access to community benefits and events, no refunds will be issued after purchase. Cancellation of an annual membership stops future charges but does not entitle the member to a refund for the current term.
Retreats

9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and all content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. The Curious Builder makes no warranties that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Curious Builder shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or any content therein, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites. These links are provided for convenience only. The Curious Builder does not endorse and is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party sites.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to the Site. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota.
